ILS Hospitals Agartala organized a Free Mega Health Camp in Kailasahar, offering free specialist consultations, diagnostics, and treatments. Over 100 patients benefited from services in cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, and general medicine. Leaders praised the initiative, which aims to expand quality healthcare to rural and underserved communities across Tripura.

In a remarkable effort to make advanced healthcare accessible to the community, ILS Hospitals Agartala successfully organized a Free Mega Health Camp in Kailasahar, attracting a large and enthusiastic crowd from the early hours of the morning. The event transformed the town into a hub of medical activity as people from nearby villages and distant rural areas gathered to benefit from the free services on offer.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Tinku Roy, Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, and Labour, Government of Tripura. The inaugural ceremony was further dignified by the presence of Smt. Chapala Rani Debroy, Chairperson of the Kailasahar Municipal Council. Speaking at the event, Minister Roy lauded the initiative, stating, “Such camps not only offer treatment but also instill new confidence in people. This is a commendable step toward bridging the healthcare gap in rural areas.”

A Strong Medical Team at the Helm

The camp saw participation from some of the most experienced and reputed doctors from ILS Hospitals Agartala. The team included Dr. Rahul M Sharma (Urologist), Dr. Nilanjan Majumder (Cardiologist), and medicine specialists Dr. Dipankar Paul and Dr. Riyash Debbarma. The initiative was coordinated by Amit Bhattacharjee, North Tripura Coordinator for ILS Hospitals, who oversaw the smooth execution of the event and ensured that services ran efficiently throughout the day.

Wide Range of Free Medical Services

The Mega Health Camp offered a comprehensive set of medical services at no cost to the public. These included:

  • Urology consultations

  • Cardiology check-ups

  • General medicine consultations

  • Ophthalmology (Eye) examinations

  • Blood sugar testing

  • Blood pressure measurement

  • ECG (Electrocardiogram)

  • ECHO (Echocardiogram)

In addition to diagnostic procedures, patients received professional medical consultations and, where necessary, were advised on further treatment options or follow-up care.

Over 100 Patients Benefited in a Single Day

Throughout the day, more than 100 patients availed themselves of the camp’s services, with many praising the quality and thoroughness of the examinations. For residents of remote and underserved areas, having access to multiple specialists and advanced diagnostic tools at one location was a rare and much-appreciated opportunity.

Several beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, highlighting that traveling to Agartala or other urban centers for such medical services is often time-consuming, costly, and, for some, physically challenging. The camp not only saved them these burdens but also provided them with timely and potentially life-saving consultations.

Commitment to Future Healthcare Initiatives

The management of ILS Hospitals Agartala announced that such health camps would continue to be organized across Tripura, particularly in rural and underserved areas. The goal is to ensure that quality healthcare is not a privilege for the few but a right for all.

Speaking about future plans, a hospital spokesperson said, “Our mission is to bring healthcare to the doorsteps of those who need it most. Accessibility and affordability are at the heart of our initiatives, and we intend to replicate such camps in other districts in the coming months.”

A Model for Community Health Engagement

The Free Mega Health Camp in Kailasahar stands as a shining example of how hospitals, local leaders, and communities can work together to address healthcare challenges. The initiative not only offered medical treatment but also raised awareness about preventive health measures, encouraging people to take charge of their well-being before conditions escalate.
