On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, Tripura’s Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, addressed the state with a message of hope and progress, emphasizing Tripura’s advancement towards a new chapter in its development. The celebration, held at the Assam Rifles ground in Agartala, began with Dr. Saha hoisting the National Flag, symbolizing the unity and patriotism of the people of Tripura. In his speech, he highlighted the state government’s determined efforts to foster economic growth, social welfare, and human resource development despite the many challenges faced along the way.

The event saw the presence of prominent officials, including Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha and Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan. Following the flag hoisting, Dr. Saha inspected a ceremonial parade, which featured 16 platoons, led by Parade Commander Deputy Superintendent of Police Sudambika R. The Chief Minister also participated in an awards ceremony, where medals and honors were bestowed upon individuals for their outstanding contributions in various fields.

Adding to the celebrations was a cultural program organized by the Education Department, which showcased performances that reflected the spirit of national pride and Tripura’s rich cultural heritage. The vibrant performances captivated the audience and added a festive atmosphere to the day.

In his address, Dr. Saha paid homage to India’s freedom fighters, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future. He also highlighted the achievements of Tripura and the government’s ongoing initiatives aimed at driving growth and development throughout the state. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to steering Tripura towards a prosperous future, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).

Dr. Saha called on the citizens of Tripura to unite in their efforts to achieve the vision of ‘Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’ (One Tripura, Best Tripura), stressing the importance of collective progress for a brighter tomorrow. Across the state, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated with various programs, all marked by a deep sense of patriotism.
