The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour in Mumbai inspired young cricketers, honored women captains, and visited iconic landmarks, schools, and academies—fueling excitement ahead of the tournament’s matches at DY Patil Stadium and venues across India and Sri Lanka.

Mumbai witnessed a historic celebration of women’s cricket as the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour made its way across the city, sparking enthusiasm among fans and inspiring the next generation of female cricketers. The prestigious silverware, symbolic of excellence and achievement in the sport, was warmly welcomed at various iconic locations, schools, and cricket academies, turning the city into a hub of cricketing excitement.

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) played a key role in organizing interactive sessions, ensuring that the event did not just display the trophy but also ignited ambition among young players. The highlight was its visit to the MCA Sharad Pawar Indoor Cricket Academy and Recreation Centre, where MCA President Ajinkya Naik, members of the Apex Council, and several international and domestic women cricketers proudly welcomed the trophy. For many young talents, getting the opportunity to see the World Cup trophy up close for the very first time was a once-in-a-lifetime moment that strengthened their determination to follow in the footsteps of their heroes.

Adding to the atmosphere of pride and recognition, MCA also unveiled a special wall dedicated to Mumbai’s women captains, showcasing photographs and celebrating their leadership and contributions to the game. The gesture reflected the city’s rich cricketing culture while acknowledging the pivotal role played by women athletes in shaping its legacy.

The event also included an insightful panel discussion with former Indian players Shobha Pandit, Sulakshana Naik, and Sangita Katware, who shared their personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs in cricket. Their motivational words resonated strongly with aspiring players, providing invaluable lessons and inspiring stories to carry forward.

During its journey across Mumbai, the trophy tour extended beyond cricket grounds to include some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. From Churchgate Railway Station to the historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Gateway of India, Oval Maidan, Girgaon Chowpatty, and Powai Lake, the trophy captured the attention of fans and passersby alike. At Girgaon Chowpatty, the city’s women’s cricket team witnessed the silverware during their training, symbolically connecting their present hard work with their dreams of future glory.

The trophy also visited SVKM JV Parekh International School, where hundreds of enthusiastic students welcomed it with pride and admiration. Principal Dr. G. Swaminathan and Vice Principal Shoma Bhattacharya joined in the celebrations, accompanied by actress Saiyami Kher and Aparna Chablani, Senior Vice President – General Counsel & Governance, DP World (Middle East, North Africa & India Subcontinent). The event not only inspired students but also equipped them with the necessary tools to pursue cricket seriously, as cricket kits were donated to school children, ensuring that young aspirants could train with proper facilities.

The excitement now shifts to the tournament itself, which will be hosted across India and Sri Lanka between September 30 and November 2, 2025. Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium is set to host some of the most anticipated clashes, including Sri Lanka vs. Bangladesh on October 20, India vs. New Zealand on October 23, and India vs. Bangladesh on October 26, followed by the second semi-final on October 30. The grand final is scheduled for November 2, either at Navi Mumbai or Colombo, marking the culmination of the prestigious tournament.

Beyond Navi Mumbai, other venues include ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Together, these venues will host world-class cricket, offering fans across regions the chance to be part of history.

The Mumbai leg of the trophy tour served as a reminder of cricket’s unifying power and its ability to inspire dreams. For the young girls who held the bat for the first time or looked up at their role models on the stage, the visit of the ICC Women’s World Cup Trophy was more than just an event—it was a spark of possibility, planting seeds of determination and ambition that could one day blossom into international triumphs.
