        Union Home Minister Amit Shah today reiterated the Government’s firm resolve to eradicate Maoism from the country by next year. He made it clear that no dialogue will be held with armed left-wing extremists. Addressing a Kisan Sammelan in Nizamabad after inaugurating the National Turmeric Board headquarters, Mr Shah requested Maoists to surrender and integrate into the national mainstream.
        Mr. Shah said those who hold guns and kill tribals, policemen and jawans, cannot expect talks. Emphasising that the door remains open for those willing to renounce violence, the Minister asked left wing extremists to drop their weapons and surrender, and said, the government is committed to end the left wing extremism in the country by the deadline.
        Mr Shah also urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to remain vigilant and not to allow the State to become a den for Maoists. He said over two thousand Maoists have surrendered in the last 18 months and cited the example of over ten thousand individuals in the northeast who laid down arms to join the mainstream.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled the 40-year-old dream of Turmeric farmers and the people by sanctioning the National Turmeric Board to Nizamabad. Stating that the centre is committed for the welfare of turmeric farmers, he said one billion dollars in exports of turmeric should be achieved by 2030. He said the turmeric farmers are not able to get the best price despite the best quality yield they are getting in and around Nizamabad. He said farmers will be imparted new skills and techniques through the board. Advocating the medicinal values of Turmeric, he said the entire world came to know about the curative nature of turmeric.Union Coal Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home B Sanjay Kumar and state ministers Nageswar Rao and Anasuya Sitakka and senior leaders among others were present on the occasion.
