Tripura government is actively considering to set up a film institute a ka Satyajit Ray Films & Television Institute in the state. The estimated project cost of the institute will be around Rs 6 crore.
ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury recently spoke to Union IB Minister Anurag Thakur over telephone and sought his support in this regard, said Ratan Biswas, Director ICA in a film launching programme of Bohubhuj organization at Agartala Press Club on Friday.
“The Union Minister also sounded very positive and if everything goes right then after Durga Puja a DPR would be made and other paper works would start”, Biswas said.
National School of Drama, Tripura Chapter Director Vijoy Kumar Singh said his institute would also extend help in creative activities in the state.
The Bohubhuj, a leading cultural organization has produced one short film ‘Drishti’ where small children performed the lead roles. The film was directed by Dr Somenath Bhoumik, eminent scholar and writer.
Present in the programme a film producer of Assam Pankaj Patar also announced that he along with Bohubhuj would produce a film soon.
The premier show of the Film invited huge acclaim from the audience. The programme presided over by the Bohubhuj president and eminent artist Soumendra Nandi was also attended by senior journalist and Executive Editor of Tripura Times Manas Pal.
