Former Student union heads call for new government through parliament

Must Read

Student leaders, including 12 former chairpersons of different student organisations affiliated to political parties, have expressed the view that the demands of the Gen Z group could be addressed in line with the constitution. Issuing a joint press release on Thursday, they stressed the need to create an environment conducive to elections by forming a new government from within the parliament.

Former President of the Nepal Student Union, Nain Singh Mahar; former Chairperson of the All Nepal National Independent Student Union, Nabina Lama; former Chairperson of the All Nepal National Free Student Union (Revolutionary) Ranjit Tamang, among others, called one and all to stand firm for the protection of the Republic and the constitution.

The statement reads that they believe various tasks like addressing the demands of the agitating youths, students and general people, amendment to the constitution and taking the country forward would be possible through the political dialogue and consensus.

They also demanded protection of private and public properties as well as bringing back the inmates escaping the jails under control, because the inmates serving jail terms for various crimes may commit further crimes in society, taking advantage of the abnormal situation in the country.
