An interaction programme with beneficiaries of PMKISAN, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin scheme was organized at Dasarath Deb Memorial School Ground in Killa block yesterday. Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia, Former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb, former MDC of TTAADC Joy Kishore Jamatia, Gomati District Magistrate & Collector Raval Hemendra Kumar attended the programme.

Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia in the programme said, the state government has taken various plans and is implementing those for the welfare of the tribals. He expressed his hope that overall development of tribal community will happen under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. He also informed that all of the plans of the central government are being properly implemented. He thanked the state government for commencing work of Bagma rail station.

  Former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb said, facilities of different central and the state government schemes are being delivered to people living in the remote areas. He said, the present government is working for welfare of tribals in the state. This government is people’s government. The present government has shown the right path to the tribals of the state.  1,300 crore rupees has been approved by Asian Development Bank for welfare of the tribals. The central government has solved the problem of Reang refugees in Kanchanpur under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Special package of 600 crore rupees has been given for this purpose. The central government is arranging education, housing, power connection, water etc. for the Reang refugees. He said, approval of 2 lakh 28 thousand housing has been given under PMAY. Free of cost drinking water connection is being provided to every household under Jal Jeevan Mission. About 53% houses have received water connection recently. All these have been possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, Tripura’s rubber earlier used to be sold at 90 rupees to 100 rupees per kg. But presently the rubber is being sold at 150 to 170 rupees. Tripura’s pineapple, bamboo bottles etc. are now known internationally. Mission 100 Vidyajyoti has been started to improve education system of the state. He said, 5 thousand 740 persons have received the benefits of PMKISAN in Killa block so far.

 District Magistrate Raval Hemendra Kumar informed that 6 thousand 594 Pucca houses are being constructed so far in Gomati district under PMAY-G. 42 thousand 237 farmers of the district have been brought under PMKISAN. Director of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare department Navojit Chakma also spoke on the occasion. Later, former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb along with other guests attended Sadh Bhakhan programme at Killa Para Anganwadi Centre as a part of POSHAN Abhiyan. They have also interacted with beneficiaries namely Ananta Kishore Jamatia, Karuna Debi Jamatia, Brinda Rani Jamatia and others.
