Voluntary blood donation camp at Santirbazar Fire Service office highlights humanitarian role of fire service personnel, with Minister Shukla Charan Noatia praising voluntary donors and stressing public participation to overcome blood shortages.
A voluntary blood donation camp was successfully organized at the Santirbazar Fire Service Office, showcasing the humanitarian commitment of fire service personnel beyond their demanding emergency responsibilities. The initiative highlighted how first responders continue to serve society not only during disasters but also through life-saving social activities.
The camp was organized under the joint initiative of the Gomati District and South District Fire Service departments. Fire service personnel participated enthusiastically, demonstrating strong solidarity with the cause of voluntary blood donation. Their participation earned widespread appreciation from officials, social organizations, and local residents, who praised the fire service for organizing such a meaningful and socially responsible programme.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Minister Shukla Charan Noatia in the presence of Santirbazar Assembly Constituency MLA Pramod Reang, Director of Fire Service Uttam Mandal, Santirbazar Municipal Council Chairperson Swapna Baidya, Vice Chairperson Satyabrata Saha, Santirbazar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sanjib Chakma, noted social worker Debashish Bhowmik, along with several other senior officials and community representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Shukla Charan Noatia said that fire service personnel consistently risk their lives to protect people during fires, accidents, and natural disasters. He stated that by voluntarily donating blood, the fire service staff once again proved their dedication to humanity. The Minister expressed deep gratitude to all fire service personnel who stepped forward to donate blood despite their challenging duties.
He further emphasized that blood is a unique and irreplaceable resource that cannot be purchased with money or supplied through government budgets. To overcome the persistent shortage of blood in hospitals, voluntary participation from citizens is essential. Minister Noatia highlighted that the Chief Minister of the state has always encouraged people to donate blood voluntarily and praised the organizers for responding to that call with sincerity and commitment.
Speaking on the occasion, Santirbazar MLA Pramod Reang assured that support from his special development fund would be extended for the welfare and infrastructural improvement of the fire service department. He commended the fire service personnel for setting an example of social responsibility and urged more citizens to take inspiration from their actions.

Director of Fire Service Uttam Mandal also appreciated the enthusiasm of the donors and emphasized the importance of organizing such camps regularly to ensure adequate blood supply during emergencies. Local municipal representatives and social workers echoed similar sentiments, calling the initiative a vital contribution to public health and community welfare.
The camp had initially targeted 70 voluntary blood donors, and participants came forward with great enthusiasm, making the event a significant success. Organizers expressed satisfaction over the response and reaffirmed their commitment to conducting similar humanitarian initiatives in the future.
