A complaint was lodged by Deb’s family at Amtali police station on Wednesday. According to the complaint, The 65-years Kripesh Deb was allegedly kidnapped by one of his ex-colleague from his residence located at Sripalli in the peripheries of Agartala city. Deb, an ex-fire fighter, was picked up by his former colleague Apan Barman, reportedly, to repay some money on Tuesday evening. It was the last time Deb was spotted by his family members.

In the meantime, an unidentified person was found dead at a jungle nearby Manikyanagar- Kalamchoura Bypass Road in a mysterious condition on Wednesday.

The body was found in half burnt condition with multiple external injury marks. Dog Squad and Forensic experts visited the spot before the body was shifted to Boxanagar Community Health Centre.

Later, the deceased- Kripesh Deb was identified by other members in his family.

Earlier, Speaking to the media person, Deb’s son in law Ranjit Saha said, “Yesterday at around six pm in the evening, my father in law Kripesh Deb left the house along with his former colleague Apan Barman. My father in law is an ex-fire fighter while Barman is still in service. As far as I know, Barman borrowed some money from my father in law but did not return. Yesterday I called my father in law and convinced him to take along to repay the money but my father in law did not return”.

“We have tried to connect with Apan Barman but he said that he did not meet my father in law while we have CCTV footage that shows Barman giving a lift to my father in law from the main entrance. Finding inconsistencies in Barman’s response, we have lodged an FIR with the local police station. The police had also visited Barman’s house but he was absconding. His family is also not cooperating with the police investigation”, said Saha.
