On Wednesday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited the families of two out of three children who tragically drowned in the Khowai River recently.

The incident occurred on May 21 when Moutushi Das (12), Ankush Nama (7), and Khushi Roy (10) drowned while bathing in the Khowai River with their grandfather.

During his visit to Khowai district, the Chief Minister, accompanied by Chief Whip Kalyani Roy, extended sympathy to the bereaved families. He visited the homes of Moutushi in Moharcherra and Khushi in Char Ganki, offering his condolences and providing financial support. The other child, Ankush Nama (7), hailed from Bishalgarh.

The Chief Minister expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incident, which has left the entire state in shock. He also directed the concerned officials to ensure that the administration provides all necessary government assistance to support the families in the coming days.

“It was a heart-breaking incident. As I came here to Khowai for the party’s program, I decided to meet the family members who have lost their children. Another child who drowned in the unfortunate accident is a resident of Bishalgarh, and I will go there too. We have no words to express the magnitude of this incident. We have also provided them with financial assistance, but that cannot bring the children back,” the Chief Minister expressed to the media.

The visit of the Chief Minister serves as a gesture of support and solidarity to the grieving families during this difficult time, highlighting the government’s commitment to providing assistance and ensuring their well-being.
