Delhi Metro will extend train services until midnight on October 30 for Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour 2026 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. DMRC will operate additional trains, strengthen security and deploy extra staff to manage the expected 70,000 spectators.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced extended train services until midnight on Friday, October 30, to facilitate the movement of spectators attending Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Aura India Tour 2026’ concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital.
The concert is expected to attract approximately 70,000 spectators, prompting the metro authorities to introduce special operational arrangements to ensure convenient travel and the smooth dispersal of passengers after the event.
According to a statement issued by Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communication at DMRC, metro train services will be extended beyond normal operating hours across all metro lines, except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro, Gurugram.
The extended services will operate until midnight on the day of the concert. Additional train trips will be introduced across the network to accommodate the expected increase in passenger traffic, particularly after the concert concludes.
DMRC has also arranged to keep standby trains ready for deployment if passenger numbers exceed expectations or an unforeseen surge in demand occurs. The arrangements are intended to minimise inconvenience and help concertgoers return home safely.
In another passenger-friendly measure, the timings for purchasing QR tickets through the Delhi Metro Sarthi mobile application will be extended by one hour to accommodate commuters travelling during the extended service period.
JLN Stadium Metro Station to Receive Special Arrangements
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro Station, located on the Violet Line connecting Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh, is the nearest metro station to the concert venue. A large proportion of spectators are expected to use this station to reach the stadium and leave after the performance.
To manage the anticipated crowd, DMRC will introduce special arrangements at JLN Stadium Metro Station and other important interchange stations. Additional metro personnel, customer service staff and Customer Facilitation Agents will be deployed to guide passengers, provide assistance and regulate movement through station premises.
Security measures will also be strengthened at JLN Stadium Metro Station. Additional security personnel will be deployed, while Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and enhanced screening arrangements will help ensure orderly entry and passenger safety.
The metro authorities have urged concertgoers to use public transport wherever possible. Officials said travelling by metro would offer a convenient and environmentally friendly alternative to private vehicles, while helping reduce congestion around the stadium.
Delhi Traffic Police Announces Restrictions and Diversions
Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions and diversions in connection with the concert. In a post on X on Wednesday, the police said restrictions could remain in effect from 1 pm until midnight on October 30.
Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys in advance, avoid roads affected by traffic diversions around Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and use public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro.
The concert is expected to draw a substantial gathering, making traffic management a key concern for authorities. The combination of extended metro operations, additional train services and road diversions is intended to help manage the movement of spectators before and after the event.
Residents travelling through the JLN Stadium area during the afternoon and evening have been advised to check traffic updates and allow additional time for their journeys.
Public Transport Recommended for Concertgoers
With thousands of fans expected to attend Diljit Dosanjh’s performance, the extended Delhi Metro schedule is likely to be particularly useful for those travelling from different parts of the capital and neighbouring areas.
DMRC has encouraged passengers to purchase QR tickets through its mobile application, follow instructions from station personnel and cooperate with security staff to ensure smooth movement.

The special arrangements reflect the authorities’ efforts to manage large-scale events while maintaining passenger convenience and safety. Concertgoers are advised to check the latest metro and traffic advisories before travelling to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30.
By extending services until midnight and increasing operational readiness, Delhi Metro aims to provide reliable transport for spectators attending the ‘Aura India Tour 2026’ concert while reducing pressure on the city’s road network.
