Day seven of Khelo India Tribal Games features multiple sports competitions

On the seventh day of the ongoing Khelo India Tribal Games in Chhattisgarh, competitions in athletics, wrestling, football and hockey were held today.
 
In athletics events held at Jagdalpur, Prithvi Oraon of Jharkhand won the gold medal in the 100 meters race in the women’s category. Basanti Manjhi of Odisha clinched gold in the 100 meters hurdles, while Rithushree of Karnataka won the 400 meters event. Muskan Lobi of Gujarat secured gold in discus throw, and Mansi Kunkalkar of Goa in shot put. Jharkhand also won gold in the women’s 4×100 meters relay.
 
In the men’s category, Shivkumar Soren of Jharkhand won gold in the 100 meters race. Troilukya Mosarong of Assam secured gold in the 110 meters hurdles, while Santoshbhai Ganvit of Gujarat won the 400 meters. Abdul Fatah of Lakshadweep claimed gold in the long jump, Sagar Ekka of Odisha in high jump, Danish Makwana of Gujarat in the discus throw and Siddharth Nagesh of Chhattisgarh in the shot put. Odisha won gold in the men’s 4×100 meters relay.
 
In women’s football, Chhattisgarh defeated Arunachal Pradesh in a penalty shootout in the first semi-final. In the second semi-final, Jharkhand beat Gujarat by nine goals to nil. Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand will face each other in the final.
 
In wrestling events held at Surguja, Telangana’s Naga Lakshmi won gold in the women’s 57 kg category, while Karnataka’s Prinshita Siddhi secured gold in the 68 kg category. In men’s freestyle wrestling, Ajit Bhuyan of Odisha won gold in the 57 kg category, while Sumit Thakur of Himachal Pradesh claimed gold in the 86 kg category. In Greco-Roman events, Abhishek Munda of Jharkhand won gold in the 77 kg category and Shiva Bhalavi of Madhya Pradesh in the 130 kg category. Karnataka continues to lead the medal tally, followed by Odisha in second place and Arunachal Pradesh in third.
