Within 24 hours of attack on CPM MLA Ratan Bhowmik in Udaipur, miscreants ran amok in Mohanpur area and attacked several houses of CPM supporters. The opposition CPM and victims alleged that the motorbike borne miscreants were BJP activists.
The biker gangs stormed into the houses of several CPM supporters and ransacked the dwellings. CPM leaders gave a deputation to the concerned SDPO.
Addressing a press conference, the CPM leader Ratan Das alleged, “A group of some identified motorbike-borne miscreants belonging to the BJP party attacked the CPI-M workers at Mohanpur. The miscreants started chasing the CPM workers throughout the Mohanpur constituency and ransacked the houses of our party workers there.”
“One of our party leaders Prabir Debnath was attacked and was left injured by the BJP goons. The miscreants then started attacking our other party workers one after another and it went on throughout the day,” Das alleged.
He alleged, “The entire attack was led by Dilip Das, Nirmal Deb, Sujit Saha, Bikash Das, Jipesh Das and Abhijit Saha and all of them are close aides of Minister Ratan Lal Nath. The attackers also threatened dire consequences if our party workers fail to reach the BJP party office by Wednesday morning.”
“ There is no change regarding restoration of law and order situation even after the change of Chief Minister. Just as the election is drawing near the BJP-backed attacks and terror tactics have intensified throughout the state just like that of Mohanpur.”
The leaders of CPM accused the BJP party of adopting ‘terror tactics’ and attacking the LF supporters to create a reign of terror. After yesterday’s attack on CPM MLA Ratan Bhowmik, CPM leaders alleged several party members came under attack at Mohanpur area which falls under the assembly constituency of state Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
