Congress on Friday alleged of corruption under the rule of BJP government in Tripura and announced launching of a massive movement against the government soon.
“Policies adopted by the state BJP government in Tripura in different sectors are found to be deep-neck in corruption. Congress will soon launch a movement against such corrupt practices of the government,” said PCC president Birajit Sinha on Friday.
Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Congress Bhawan, Sinha alleged, “At a time when the state of Tripura is reeling under acute crisis of job, food and pure drinking water, the government is deeply indulged in corrupt practices especially in the rural pockets of the state in the name of implementing policies.”
“Government has failed to connect the interior part of the villages across the state with pure drinking water facilities and as a result a large section of poor tribals and non-tribals are reeling under crisis. Villagers were found to be accessing the stream water as the only source of their drinking water due to the lack of proper arrangement of drinking water facilities,” Sinha alleged.
The Congress on Friday also slammed the BJP government at the Centre and State over mandating Hindi language. Sinha said, “Efforts are being made in our state of Tripura by the BJP government to ignore the regional languages of Bengali and Kok-Borok in Tripura and impose Hindi language.”
“We strongly oppose the move of the BJP government which is ignoring our regional language of Bengali and Kok-Borok,” Sinha said and demanded the government to give equal importance to the regional languages of Tripura.
