Tripura Pradesh Congress has condemned the reported assaults on two university students on January 13 last by the Traffic personnel in Agartala.
Speaking to the media, Pradesh Congress chief Birajit Sinha said, “beating the innocent students is a condemnable incident. The Students’ wing of the party NSUI has already raked up the issue and is holding protest programmes demanding punitive actions against the erring traffic cop”, Sinha said.
“Chief Minister’s convoy would pass on as usual – however, that does not mean that if any vehicle breaks down on the road, traffic Police would rough up the vehicle owner or driver. Pradesh Congress vehemently condemns the act of the traffic police. This tendency has to end”, Sinha commented.
