A youth hailing from Udaipur in Gomati district of the state is facing allegations of duping a significant number of students and their guardians under the guise of facilitating college admissions outside the state. The disturbing incident came to light on Tuesday when guardians of the affected students filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused youth, identified as Azar Kazi of Udaipur.
According to the aggrieved guardians, Azar Kazi was operating as a broker for college admissions and had allegedly deceived over 30 students from Udaipur and Boxanagar by promising them admissions in various colleges in Bangalore and Kolkata.
The accused youth is accused of collecting substantial sums of money from the guardians, assuring them that their students would be admitted to various courses in colleges located outside the state. It is alleged that the amounts involved ran into lakhs of rupees.
One distressed guardian shared her experience, stating that Azar Kazi had taken a significant sum from her, guaranteeing her daughter’s admission to a college in Bangalore for a Pharm-D course. However, upon reaching the college, her daughter was denied admission because no admission fee had been paid to the institution.
The concerned mother further revealed that despite her substantial payment to the broker, he had not remitted any amount to the college. As a result, her daughter was forced to return home without being admitted to the college.
Guardians recounted that previous FIRs had been lodged against Azar Kazi, but he had allegedly continued to deceive students, jeopardizing their academic futures.
This case highlights the need for vigilance and caution when dealing with individuals promising college admissions, especially when large sums of money are involved. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into these allegations to bring those responsible to justice and provide recourse for the affected students and their guardians.
