CM opens Post Harvest Management Centre at Golaghati

 Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha yesterday inaugurated the Post Harvest Management Centre and Rural Collection Centre at Golaghati Community Hall premises of Bishalgarh sub-division. In his inaugural address, he said that the present state government is working in line with the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modifor the development of farmers in different parts of the state. So far 17 grain storage centres, farmer knowledge centres etc. have been set up in different places to make the farmers self-reliant. He said that the surplus crops of the farmers can be stored in the grain storage centres at low cost. The Chief Minister saidmany public representatives starting from Agriculture Minister, MLAs are participating in sowing seed and other programmes which will boost the morale of the farmers. Paddy is being purchased from the farmers all over the state at minimum support price. Currently the produce of the farmers of the state is being exported to foreign countries as well. As a result, the farmers of the state are now economically benefiting.

Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said that Krishak Bandhu Kendra, Krishak Pathshala, Agricultural Knowledge Centreare being established in the state to make farmers skilled in farming. Fruits are produced more in Sepahijala district as compared to other districts of the state. These Post Harvest Management Centre and Collection Centre have facilities to store their produce at very low cost.

At the programme, 15 farmers of Golaghati panchayat were given paddy thresher, 4 farmers were given power weeders. It costs 2 lakh 90 thousand rupees. Besides, seedlings of various types of winter vegetables were distributed among the farmers, 1 power tiller at a subsidized price of 85,000 rupees was given to 1 farmer. Chairman of Bishalgarh Panchayat Samiti Chanda Debbarma presided over the programme. MLA Birendra Kishore Debbarma, Sepahijala District Magistrate Vishwasree B, Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate Binoy Bhushan Das, Supervisor of Bishalgarh Agriculture and Farmers Welfare department Priyatosh Sarkar and others were present at the programme.
