Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha along with his ministerial colleagues, political leaders and government officials launched the three-day long 75th Independence Day extravaganza with the theme Har Ghar Tiranga on Friday. Dr Saha along with former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb , ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, minister Ram Prasad Paul, minster Manoj Kanti Deb, Minister Bhagaban Das MP Rebati Tripura, , Chief Whip Kalyani Roy, Mayor Dipak Majumder , ICA secretary Abhisek Chandra. Director Ratan Biswas and hundreds of citizens joined the “Walk with Tiranga” from Circuit House area. They marched through the city roads and reached the main gate of the Ujjayanta Palace.
The programme was organized by the iCA department.
Earlier, both Chief Minister Dr Saha and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb participated separately in rallies for Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Dr Saha joined a colourful bike rally in Ramnagar area with local MLA Surajit Datta.
He appealed all to join whole heartedly to make the campaign a massive success as appealed by Prime Miniter Narendra Modi.
Dr Saha appreciated the initiatives of the ICA department and people involved in making the event a grand success.
Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also as a part of the Independence Day celebration offered floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda at Astabal maidan. He garlanded Swamiji’s statute and called upon all to clean and offer tributes to the statues of all the martyrs and leading personalities in their localities .
The former Chief Minister also exhorted the youths to follow the ideologies of Swami Vivekananda. The programme was organized BJP’s Banamalipur assembly constituency as a part of Azadi-ka-Amrit-Mahotsav celebrations.
