ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the cabinet on Friday in a meeting gave the green signal for appointment of 200 Allopathy Pharmacists under the Health and Family Welfare department.

While addressing the media after the Council of Ministers’ meeting the ICA Minister said out of a total of 739 sanctioned posts of Allopathy pharmacists as many as ‘238 are physically occupied’ and the remaining 501 posts remained vacant. The cabinet had decided to recruit 200 posts from these 501 posts following the Finance department clearance.

There were also some amendments in the Recruitment Rules for the pharmacists. Now along with the diploma holders the degree holders would also be able to apply for the post, said Chowdhury.

The cabinet also decided to appoint in 35 posts of which six would be Sub-Inspectors of the Excise department, six Junior Store Keepers, three Fumigation Assistants and 20 Lower Division Clerks under the Food and Civil Supplies department.

The Excise department Sis would be directly recruited via Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).

The council of ministers also decided to create  20 posts of Multitasking Staff (Group-D) under the Directorate of Audit and eight posts of Assistant Divisional Fire Officers under the Fire and Emergency Services department. Apart from these 147 technical posts under the PWD department would also be created soon. These 147 new posts would include Draftsmen, Junior Draftsmen, Surveyor, Senior Surveyor and Overseer. These posts would be filled up through promotion. 

The cabinet felt that these posts creation became necessary as there were massive infrastructure development process was on in the state.
