ILS Hospitals Agartala has collaborated with the National Health Mission (NHM) to provide surgical treatment to children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in Tripura, according to the hospital sources.
The hospital has already operated on over 200 children who were suffering from the defect.
To ensure that the doctors at NHM are aware of the latest assessment and screening tools required for early detection and intervention in children with CHD and hydrocephalus, ILS Hospitals Agartala is also conducting a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on April 28, 2023, at Hotel Sonartori, Agartala, sources said.
Doctors from NHM across the state of Tripura will attend the training session, where senior consultant doctors from ILS Hospitals Agartala, Dr. Arup Deb, Interventional Cardiologist; Dr. C. Sai Krishna, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeon; and Dr. Nirankar Dev, Neurosurgeon, will impart essential training to improve the healthcare facilities for the children.
ILS Hospitals Agartala has been collaborating with the State Government and NHM to extend healthcare facilities to the poor and needy. The hospital provides treatment facilities for Below Poverty Line (BPL) families free of cost, and its services are at highly concessional rates. The hospital is also empanelled under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Ayushman Bharat schemes, where Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, Polytrauma, General Surgery, Gynae Surgery, Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement Surgery, and Ophthalmic Surgery treatments are covered.
Through its initiatives, ILS Hospitals Agartala is committed to providing quality healthcare to the people of Tripura, particularly those in need, hospital sources added.
