The Public Accounts Committee of the Delhi Assembly will examine the CAG report on the Excise Policy of the previous AAP government. The CAG report revealed that the scrapped liquor policy implemented in 2021 caused a revenue loss of over two thousand crore rupees to the government exchequer.

Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta announced this after several BJP MLAs demanded an investigation and action against those who are guilty in the matter.

Mr. Gupta said the committee will submit its report within three months.

The Speaker also directed the Delhi Assembly Secretary to send the CAG reports to the Delhi Excise Department and submit an action taken report within one month.

Six-time MLA Mohan Singh Bisht was elected as Deputy Speaker of the newly constituted Delhi Assembly.

Mr. Bisht was elected unanimously on the third day of the session. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta proposed the name of Mohan Singh Bisht for the post of Deputy Speaker.

Mr. Bisht had defeated AAP’s Adeel Ahmad Khan by over 17 thousand votes from the Mustafabad constituency.
