Tripura CM Manik Saha warns against divisive and violent politics, emphasizing peace, development, and unity. At Takajala, he welcomed 200 tribal families to BJP and vowed strict legal action against those disrupting Tripura’s democratic harmony.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has cautioned against the resurgence of divisive and violent politics in the state, asserting that his government will take strict legal action against anyone attempting to disrupt peace or mislead the tribal (Janajati) communities for political gain.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Takajala under Sepahijala district, the Chief Minister said that certain groups were trying to revive the old “politics of division” and “conspiracy” reminiscent of the Communist era. However, he made it clear that such attempts would not succeed in today’s Tripura, which, he said, stands firmly for “peace, development, and democracy.”

“If anyone attacks us, we will give a befitting reply through legal means,” Saha declared, emphasizing his government’s commitment to law and order.

During the event, around 690 voters from 200 families, most of them from the tribal community, formally joined the BJP. The Chief Minister welcomed them, saying their decision reflected the growing trust of the people in the BJP’s development-oriented governance.

‘BJP Built on Sacrifice and Integrity’

Saha recalled the sacrifices made by the party’s founders, citing the examples of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, who dedicated their lives to national integrity and service to the people.

“Our predecessors built the BJP through sacrifice and commitment. Dr. Mukherjee gave his life defending India’s unity. Deen Dayal Ji’s vision continues to guide our path. The BJP’s strength lies in dedication, not fear,” he stated.

Without directly naming any opposition party, the Chief Minister said that those attempting to intimidate BJP workers or hinder the party’s expansion are “living in a dream.”

“We all have the right to do politics, but there must be dignity in politics. We have seen what happened during the Communist and Congress regimes — murders, terrorism, rape, and arson were rampant. Those days are gone,” Saha said.

‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ in Action

Highlighting the BJP’s inclusive development agenda, Saha reiterated the slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”, saying that Tripura’s progress depends on collective growth.

“The BJP and its governments, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are working for everyone. No one will be left behind in Tripura’s journey of progress,” he asserted.

He emphasized that the BJP Janajati Morcha (tribal wing) has been working continuously for the upliftment of tribal communities, introducing various welfare programs to improve education, infrastructure, and employment in remote areas.

However, he warned that any attempt to create unrest or block the development of Janajati areas would not be tolerated.

Condemns Violence in Takajala

Referring to a recent attack on the house of the local BJP Mandal President in Takajala, Saha condemned the incident, comparing it to the violent political culture of the past.

“This kind of culture, in the same style as the Communists, is unacceptable. We want to change the terminology of politics in Tripura — from hostility to harmony,” the Chief Minister said.

He urged all political parties to engage in constructive debate rather than resort to aggression.

“If someone has a point to make, they can express it democratically. We will protect ourselves through lawful means. We will not harm anyone, but we will not remain silent if we are attacked unjustly,” he added.

Focus on Tribal Development and Unity

Dr. Saha also underlined that one of his government’s major objectives is to improve the socio-economic condition of the Janajati people, who form a significant portion of Tripura’s population.

“Earlier, the Janajati community was misled for vote-bank politics. Many parties used them to fill rallies and protests but never prioritized their real needs. Our government has reversed that narrative. We are ensuring that the tribal community becomes a partner in Tripura’s development story,” Saha said.

The Chief Minister concluded by urging the people to reject divisive politics and support the state’s mission of peace, progress, and unity.

The inauguration event was attended by several senior BJP leaders, including State BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, State General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, District President Biplab Chakraborty, and Takajala Mandal leader Nirmal Debbarma.
