In an attempt to revitalize the organization at booth levels ruling BJP launched its workers’ training programme on Booth Swashaktikaran Abhiyan at Muktadhara auditorium on Friday.
Former West Bengal BJP president and national vice-president of the party BJP Dilip Ghosh arrived here to attend the training programme. He along with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and other BJP ministers, MP Rebati Tripura, MLAs inaugurated the programme.
Later, Ghosh while talking to the media criticised the West Bengal government for indulging in rampant corruptions, nepotism and poor governance. He specifically referred to the alleged corruption in recruitment and examination process in West Bengal and maintained that Mamta Banrejee failed to order a probe.
If proper investigation is done many a Trinamool Congress leaders including MLAs and MPs would be arrested and sent to jail, Ghosh maintained.
On Tripura he said the state might be small but for the BJP the state was held with high importance.
Ghosh made a courtesy call on Mayor Dipak Majumder and Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta of Agartala Municipal Corporation. He would meet Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and other party leaders before leaving Tripura on Saturday.
The Booth Swashaktikaran Abhiyan- which is actually a training cum orientation programme – was an important programme for the ruling party as the state would be going to polls in 2023. The ruling party strategically relied on the booth level workers and this orientation programme was viewed as a step forward to give fillip in the organizational activities of the party.
