A total of over 20 thousand new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country during the last 24 hours. Union Health Ministry said, 16 thousand 994 people recovered during the same period. The recovery rate is currently at 98.48 percent. India’s active caseload currently stands at over one lakh 39 thousand and it is at 0.32 percent. The Weekly Positivity Rate currently stands at 4.30 percent while the Daily Positivity Rate is at 4.44 percent.
The Ministry said, more than 199 crore 47 lakh COVID vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. More than 18 lakh 92 thousand doses were administered during the last 24 hours.
Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has said that free COVID-19 Precaution Dose drive for all adults for the next 75 days has commenced. The special drive is aimed to increase uptake for the Precaution Dose of COVID Vaccine among the eligible adult population 18 years and above. In a tweet, Mr Mandaviya urged all eligibles to get their Precaution Dose. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is committed to creating a Healthy and Safe India. This special COVID vaccination drive is a part of the celebration for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
