Former minister of Modi’s cabinet and now TMC leader Babul Supriyo faced what he called – ‘violent mob’ allegedly of BJP cadres in the minority dominated area at Bitarbon in front of Ramnagar police station area in the city on Saturday. He was on his way to attend a poll campaign organised in support of party candidate for the upcoming municipal poll.
The incident took place after a group of youths raising slogans of BJP began abusing Babul for deserting the party. As the singer turn politician got down from the car the youths became violent. Police somehow managed the situation and sent him back from the area.
West Bengal minister Firhard Hakim also faced almost similar situation on Saturday. Soon after ending the poll campaign with the words – “If you hit one here, I will hit five there” in other words, the attack on the Trinamool workers in Tripura will be reciprocated in Bengal, Firhard Hakim faced a heated moment after allegedly a group of BJP supporters vandalized the stage of his poll campaign and disconnected the power lines.
Firhard Hakim was addressing a gathering in a TMC’s poll campaign at Agartala in support of the party candidate Panna Deb of Ward No.10 of Agartala Municipal Corporation.
It was alleged that some BJP supporters had gathered in the TMC’s poll campaign and vandalized the stage of Firhad Hakim from where he was addressing the party gathering and later engaged in a clash with the TMC supporter at the end of the poll campaign. Soon after the situation worsened, a contingent of CRPF jawans reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
