Assam Rajya Sabha MP Kanad Purkayastha highlighted the NDA government’s achievements during his Tripura visit, promoting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He attended development programmes, tree plantation drives, sports infrastructure initiatives, and organizational meetings, emphasizing self-reliance, public participation, and inclusive national growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Assam Rajya Sabha MP Kanad Purkayastha undertook a series of programmes across Tripura this week, highlighting the achievements of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his visit, Purkayastha emphasized the importance of collective participation in realizing the vision of a developed and self-reliant India by 2047.

One of the key events attended by the MP was the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Convention” held at Kajaria Community Hall in Sepahijala district. Addressing the gathering, Purkayastha elaborated on the concept of Viksit Bharat 2047, a long-term national vision aimed at transforming India into a developed nation. He stated that the initiative builds upon the progress achieved over the last twelve years in governance reforms, welfare measures, infrastructure development, and economic self-reliance.

According to Purkayastha, the active involvement of citizens is essential for the successful realization of the Viksit Bharat mission. He highlighted several government initiatives that have contributed to improving public services and strengthening the country’s development framework. He noted that the NDA government’s focus on inclusive growth and empowerment has helped accelerate progress across various sectors.

During his visit to Agartala, the Rajya Sabha MP also participated in the Pragati Path Yatra at the construction site of the Unity Mall campus. The ambitious project, estimated at Rs 150 crore, is expected to be completed by 2027. Purkayastha described the project as a symbol of the government’s commitment to promoting indigenous products and supporting local artisans. He said the Unity Mall aligns with the principles of “Vocal for Local” and “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, providing a platform for handicrafts, GI-tagged products, and One District One Product (ODOP) items from different parts of the country.

As part of his outreach activities, Purkayastha took part in a tree plantation drive at Tripura University. During the programme, he met Registrar Samir Kumar Sil and interacted with members of the academic community. He also felicitated noted educationist Harjeet Nath in recognition of his significant contributions to technical education and academic development.

The MP further met Dronacharya Award-winning coach Bishweshwar Nandi and praised his contribution to nurturing sporting talent in the country. Later, he visited the International Cricket Stadium at Narsingarh, where he joined another plantation programme and held discussions with officials of the Tripura Cricket Association. He emphasized that strengthening sports infrastructure and supporting athletes remain important priorities of the government’s broader development agenda.

Concluding his visit, Purkayastha met BJP Tripura Pradesh president Abhishek Debroy and other party leaders at the state party office in Agartala. The discussions focused on organizational matters, development priorities, and future strategies aimed at strengthening the party’s outreach and public engagement efforts.

The visit underscored the NDA government’s emphasis on development, self-reliance, environmental sustainability, sports promotion, and public participation as key pillars of the vision for a developed India by 2047.
