Union MoS of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said the capital city Agartala had undergone a massive facelift as the works for the Smart city projects were being implemented in full swing and in right earnest.
Bhowmik who is also the chairperson of City Level Advisory Forum reviewed the works of the Agartala Smart City Ltd in a meeting on Tuesday where all the project components were discussed along with the monetary involvements and expenditures hitherto done. After the meeting the Union Minister expressed her satisfaction.
“The works are going in full swing and almost all are ready to be completed within two months”, she claimed.
AMC Commissioner Dr Sailesh Kumar Yadav said, as many as 49 projects have been completed and works on 17 are still going on. As of today works for all projects have already been taken that included big budget Howrah River Project too.
The Union Minister said that almost all major Smart City project components barring few were completed. Those which were not completed as yet will be completed by January 2023 next. Those which were not yet completed include among others Airport-Agartala and Golchakkar-Akhaura roads.
Bhowmik also denied the allegations that there was no taker for the Light House Project.
“The allegations that people want refund of their money deposited for flats, or that many flats were not yet booked -are all fake and fabricated. There is no an iota of the truth in them”.
“ Fact is just the opposite. While most of the flats were already booked there are about 300 people more in the waiting list for booking”, she said.
Yadav claimed that perennial water logging problem of the city had been addressed to a great extent and that Tripura happened to be one of the two states in India that were appreciated at National Level for solving the water logging crisis with advanced technology.
