As the nation prepares to mark its 77th Independence Day, Tripura is primed to commemorate the occasion with unwavering dignity and a fervent display of patriotism on Tuesday.
The focal state-level festivities are slated to unfold at the Assam Rifles ground, where Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will officially hoist the National Flag at 9:10 am. A vibrant cultural program infused with the spirit of patriotism is set to grace the event.
Acknowledging outstanding contributions, Chief Minister Saha will present awards and medals to Army Cadets, Officers, and Forest Department officials. Furthermore, he will address the populace of the state, sharing his insights and aspirations for the future.
The anticipation for Independence Day has already enveloped the state, as evidenced by the Har Ghar Tiranga (Flag in Every Home) and Meri Mati Mera Desh (My Land, My Country) campaigns that have taken hold.
In a poignant remembrance, the partition horror remembrance day was observed on the preceding Monday. The Chief Minister participated in the primary event held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.
The day’s festivities in Agartala will kickstart at 5 am with a vibrant morning procession led by students from various schools. With the rising sun, the National Flag will grace private buildings and residences.
Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Ratan Lal Nath, will take up the duty of hoisting the National Flag at 7 am within the Secretariat premises. Simultaneously, government offices, educational institutions, Anganwadi centers, Municipal Councils, Gram Panchayat offices, Village Committee offices, and TTAADC offices will all see the unfurling of the National Flag at 7 am.
Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya will pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at various venues, starting at 8 a.m. at the Circuit house, then at 8:15 a.m. at Gandhi Bedi in Gandhighat, and at 8:35 a.m. at the Shaheed Minar of Albert Ekka Park in Lichubagan.
The day’s commemorations will continue with a local program at the new Raj Bhavan at 5 pm. As part of the Independence Day Program, a captivating cultural presentation awaits attendees at Rabindra Bhavan at 6:30 pm.
