Tripura has experienced significant positive changes since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government came to power in 2018, transforming it into a major export hub, according to Rituraj Kishore Singha, the National Secretary of BJP. Singha, who is visiting the state to oversee preparations for BJP’s outreach program, highlighted these developments during a media interaction.
Singha described the past nine years of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing three pillars: service to society, good governance, and welfare of the poor. He contrasted this approach with the Congress party’s rhetoric-focused approach, stating that the Congress-led government, despite talking about the welfare of the poor during their 25-year tenure, failed to uplift the underprivileged and backward sections of society.
Enumerating the achievements of the Modi government, Singha mentioned the provision of houses to three crore poor people, free ration for 80 crore poor people, gas cylinders for 9.6 crore women, and the electrification of every village. He also highlighted India’s ascent to becoming the world’s fifth-largest GDP, surpassing five other countries during the nine years of Modi’s leadership.
Regarding the Act East policy, Singha coined the phrase “Modi+Manik (M+M) = Maha development in Tripura,” emphasizing the positive impact of central government schemes on the state. Singha lauded the unprecedented development of roads, railways, and connectivity in Tripura during the five years of BJP governance.
State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee, speaking to the media, announced the launch of a massive outreach campaign to commemorate the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi-led government. The campaign will involve BJP workers at various levels, including booth workers, Union ministers, and national office bearers. It will primarily focus on highlighting the government’s governance and welfare initiatives.
