Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha called upon businessmen of Tripura to embrace competition with businessmen and investors from other states to contribute effectively for the state’s economic growth.  Highlighting their indispensable role in the state’s economy the Chief Minister while speaking at the BJP Trade Cell’s Businessman Sanmelan, emphasized his own ties to the business community, having come from a family of businessmen.

Underlining Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to development, Dr. Saha said Tripura is the key northeastern state to have reaped the benefits of the Act East policy. He pointed out the remarkable progress witnessed in Tripura, attributing it to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Notably, the state now boasts a state-of-the-art railway station and has seen the introduction of 13 express trains, enhancing travel convenience for its citizens. Dr. Saha credited PM Modi for enabling such transformative changes. He further mentioned the ongoing development of highways, with six nearing completion and four more slated to begin soon.

Dr. Saha underscored the flourishing business opportunities emerging from Tripura’s improved connectivity, facilitated by the state’s robust internet infrastructure and the region’s best airport. While acknowledging past connectivity challenges, the Chief Minister assured that Tripura now possessed all the necessary resources to attract investors from across India and beyond. He encouraged local businessmen to rise to the occasion and compete with these investors, stressing their crucial role in the overall progress of Tripura’s economy.

Addressing the crowd, Dr. Saha expressed his disappointment with the previous Left Front government, blaming them for sowing discord between businessmen and employees, which ultimately led to the downfall of industries in the state. He accused the former government of playing politics and hindering development. However, Dr. Saha assured the audience that under the current government, the interests of owners, businessmen, and workers were all being prioritized. He highlighted the positive changes emphasizing the commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment.

“The face of the country changed after PM Modi came,” said Dr. Saha, urging the businessmen to actively participate in the state’s economic growth. He emphasized that Tripura’s prosperity hinges upon their entrepreneurial spirit and forward-thinking approach, as they are the driving force behind the state’s development.
