Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, emphasized the remarkable developmental activities undertaken in Tripura and other Northeastern states during the nine years of the Modi government. He highlighted the significant transformation in the region since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office in 2014.

Chandrasekhar pointed out that prior to 2014, the Northeast lacked development, which deterred investors due to the absence of proper infrastructure such as roads, railways, and air connectivity. However, he stated that the situation changed drastically after Prime Minister Modi took charge, with the region now being well-connected and witnessing tremendous progress. The Union Minister added that foreign countries were now eager to engage with the Northeast due to its substantial growth under the Modi government.

During his visit to Tripura as part of the celebrations marking Prime Minister Modi’s nine years in office, Chandrasekhar interacted with the Janajti people and party workers in Chakmaghat. He lauded Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, stating that he worked tirelessly for the development and progress of the country. Chandrasekhar praised the Prime Minister’s proactive policies and schemes, which have facilitated a turnaround in the economy, making India the world’s fifth-largest economy.

Highlighting India’s growing stature on the global stage, the Minister expressed that the country no longer depends on others for help and has emerged stronger under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He emphasized that India does not succumb to pressure from other nations or terrorist groups, as the country’s strong responses have made them think twice before planning attacks.

During his visit, Chandrasekhar also visited the Teliamura Sub Division and was briefed about the education and skilling facilities by Sourav Das, DCM. He planted a sapling in front of the DCM office and held discussions with Bikas Debbarma, Tripura’s Minister for Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Handicrafts, Sericulture, and Statistics, regarding the challenges and opportunities in the state.

This marks Chandrasekhar’s second official visit to Tripura since becoming a Minister in Prime Minister Modi’s Cabinet. His previous visit took place in August 2022, during which he participated in a Tiranga rally, showcasing his support for the nation.
