Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma praised Sunidhi Chauhan’s electrifying performance at Guwahati’s G-Town concert, highlighting enthusiastic audience participation and smooth crowd management. He also announced upcoming performances by leading Indian singers and international bands, signalling Guwahati’s growing concert culture.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday praised popular Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan for her energetic performance at a musical concert in Guwahati, highlighting the enthusiastic response from music lovers and the successful management of the large gathering. He also indicated that several major musical performances featuring prominent Indian and international artists are lined up in the city, suggesting that Guwahati’s live entertainment culture is entering an exciting phase.

In a social media post on X, Chief Minister Sarma described Sunidhi Chauhan’s performance at the G-Town concert on Saturday as “scintillating”. He congratulated the event organisers and everyone associated with the programme for ensuring smooth crowd management and the successful conduct of the concert.

Sharing visuals from the musical event, the Chief Minister highlighted the remarkable enthusiasm of the audience, noting that spectators actively participated throughout the performance. An accompanying message described how the crowd transformed into a virtual chorus, with thousands of music lovers singing along to more than half of the songs performed by Chauhan on stage.

The enthusiastic participation reflected the growing interest in large-scale live musical performances in Assam, particularly in Guwahati, where audiences are increasingly welcoming major entertainment events featuring established singers and internationally recognised performers.

Beyond praising the successful concert, Sarma also drew attention to the upcoming musical attractions scheduled to take place in Guwahati. He indicated that the Sunidhi Chauhan concert was only one of several major entertainment events planned for the city in the coming days.

“Missed it? We have several more,” the Chief Minister said in his social media post while mentioning popular Indian singers Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan and Sonu Nigam among the upcoming performers.

He also referred to the arrival of internationally renowned rock band Guns N’ Roses and British virtual band Gorillaz as part of the announced musical attractions. Their inclusion in the upcoming concert calendar is expected to bring further attention to Guwahati among music enthusiasts from different parts of the country.

“The concert scene here is just heating up,” Sarma remarked, indicating the growing scale of live entertainment activities in Assam’s largest city.

The Chief Minister’s remarks highlighted the increasing importance being attached to positioning Guwahati as a destination for major concerts, cultural programmes and large-scale entertainment events. The city has been attracting growing interest from event organisers and music lovers, with performances by established Indian singers and international artists expected to add further momentum to its entertainment calendar.

The successful organisation of the G-Town concert has also drawn attention to the importance of effective crowd management and coordination during large public gatherings. With thousands of spectators attending popular musical performances, proper arrangements involving event organisers, security personnel and other concerned agencies remain essential for ensuring public safety and a smooth concert experience.

The growing popularity of live music events could also contribute to Assam’s tourism and hospitality sectors. Major concerts have the potential to attract visitors from neighbouring northeastern states and other parts of India, creating additional opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transportation services and local businesses.

Furthermore, the increasing presence of nationally and internationally recognised performers could help expand Guwahati’s visibility on India’s live entertainment map. Such events provide opportunities to showcase the city’s cultural atmosphere, hospitality and capacity to host large public gatherings.

With upcoming performances by Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Guns N’ Roses and Gorillaz highlighted by the Chief Minister, music enthusiasts have several more events to look forward to.

The Chief Minister’s message signals the state’s growing focus on live entertainment as an avenue for cultural engagement, tourism promotion and economic activity. As Guwahati continues to attract major musical performances, the city’s concert culture is expected to remain an important part of Assam’s evolving entertainment landscape.
