Music composer Anirudh Ravichander praises Superstar Rajinikanth ahead of Jailer 2’s worldwide release on October 15. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action entertainer has received a U/A certificate, with its trailer generating massive excitement among fans.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander has praised Superstar Rajinikanth ahead of the worldwide release of the much-anticipated action entertainer Jailer 2, saying that the veteran actor continues to create magic and rewrite history even at the age of 76. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on October 15, 2026.

In a post on his X account, Anirudh reflected on Rajinikanth’s remarkable five-decade journey in Indian cinema and the lasting connection he has built with audiences across generations. The composer said the superstar had consistently delivered happiness, laughter, thrilling cinematic moments and unforgettable memories to millions of fans.

“For generations, he has given us happiness, laughter, goosebumps and memories for a lifetime. At 76 and for the past 51 years, he still creates magic and rewrites history,” Anirudh wrote.

Expressing his excitement about the film’s release, the music director added that audiences would once again demonstrate their immense affection for the actor when Jailer 2 arrives in cinemas.

He described the upcoming release as another occasion for fans to celebrate a performer who continues to enjoy an extraordinary place in the hearts of Indian moviegoers. His post also featured the film’s hashtag and tagged Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar and production house Sun Pictures.

Anirudh’s remarks have added to the excitement surrounding the film, which has generated considerable anticipation since its announcement. Rajinikanth’s return as the formidable Tiger Muthuvel Pandian is among the major attractions for fans awaiting the sequel.

The makers recently confirmed that Jailer 2 had received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing the way for its theatrical release. Sun Pictures announced the certification through its official social media channels, sharing the update with the hashtag #Jailer2.

The film’s trailer, released recently, has offered audiences a glimpse into the action-packed storyline and the challenges facing Rajinikanth’s character. It opens with a tense interrogation involving a character played by Suraj Venjaramoodu, who questions a hostage about the identity of the person responsible for a series of developments.

The hostage suggests that identifying the mysterious individual will not be easy, even for those directly involved in the investigation. The sequence establishes a sense of suspense, with several antagonists attempting to discover who is operating behind the scenes.

Rajinikanth eventually appears as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, revealing that the character has deliberately stayed away from the public eye. Rather than simply disappearing, Tiger has reportedly disguised himself as a driver to remain unnoticed while investigating whether the chain of command among his enemies extends beyond the people already identified.

The trailer also hints at the scale of the confrontation awaiting the central character. It shows that Tiger has used snipers against his enemies, while a character played by S. J. Suryah suggests that the opposing side is capable of responding with similar force.

Another notable moment features a conversation between Rajinikanth and Vidya Balan. When her character asks whether he would prefer tea or coffee, Tiger politely declines. She responds by telling him that the choice is between tea and coffee, rather than whether he wants a drink at all. The exchange offers a lighter moment amid the trailer’s tense action sequences.

The promotional footage also introduces the feared group known as the “Kalpaks”. When someone warns Tiger that the group will not allow anyone to survive, he responds with a smile and a seemingly casual challenge.

In another exchange, Tiger contrasts the methods used by older generations of criminals with more modern approaches to organised violence. His dialogue suggests that bringing enemies together in one location has become a new tactic in the dangerous world he is confronting.

These moments have heightened curiosity about the film’s narrative, character relationships and action sequences. The trailer presents Tiger Muthuvel Pandian as a calculating figure who uses disguise, intelligence and force to understand his opponents before confronting them.

The production team announced in April 2026 that filming had been completed, marking an important milestone before the promotional campaign and theatrical release. Pictures from a cake-cutting celebration were also shared to mark the completion of the shoot.

With Rajinikanth returning to a character associated with the Jailer franchise, Anirudh’s praise has further amplified expectations surrounding the sequel. As the October 15 release approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see the superstar return to the big screen in Nelson Dilipkumar’s action entertainer.

The film’s certification, trailer and strong audience anticipation have made Jailer 2 one of the highly discussed upcoming theatrical releases among Rajinikanth fans, with its worldwide opening expected to draw considerable attention.
