Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla mourn veteran actor Nana Patekar’s death, remembering his authentic performances, comic timing, memorable characters and lasting contribution to Indian cinema. Patekar died on October 8 after reportedly experiencing intense chest pain at his Goa residence.

Several prominent actors, including Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, John Abraham and Juhi Chawla, mourned the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar and paid tribute to his enduring contribution to Indian cinema. The acclaimed actor died on October 8, with reports stating that he was found unconscious at his Goa residence after experiencing intense chest pain.

Hrithik Roshan remembered Nana Patekar for the powerful impact of his performances and the influence he had on audiences and fellow actors. Recalling his experience of watching Nana’s work while growing up, Hrithik praised the late actor’s ability to combine authenticity and entertainment on screen.

In his tribute, Hrithik highlighted Nana’s hard-hitting performances, effortless comic timing and unforgettable characters. He said watching the veteran actor’s work while growing up had been like a masterclass and described his contribution to cinema as an inspiration.

“Rest in peace, dear Nana Sir. Thank you for giving us such authentic and entertaining cinema,” Hrithik wrote. He also expressed condolences to Nana’s family and friends, ending his message with “Om Shanti.”

Sanjay Dutt also paid an emotional tribute to Nana Patekar, remembering him not only as a fellow actor but also as a brother and friend. Dutt said he was finding it difficult to accept the veteran actor’s passing and recalled the many cherished moments they had shared over the years.

Dutt described Nana as a “remarkable actor” and “a great artist”, while also remembering him as a special human being. He said Nana’s death was a significant loss for those who knew and loved him as well as for the wider film industry.

“It’s still hard to believe that my brother, my friend Nana is no longer with us,” Dutt wrote, recalling the memories they had created together. He extended his thoughts and prayers to Nana’s family and loved ones and paid his respects to the late actor.

Juhi Chawla also remembered her association with Nana Patekar and reflected on the time they spent working together. She recalled sharing the screen with him in Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and Gang. Chawla also remembered visiting Nana’s home in Dadar during Ganpati celebrations.

Describing Nana as “rooted and original”, Juhi praised the distinctive quality he brought to every character. She said his performances were marked by colour, depth and authenticity and noted that his presence on Indian screens would be deeply missed.

Nana Patekar, known for his work across Hindi cinema and for portraying a wide range of intense, dramatic and comic roles, leaves behind a long body of work that has made a lasting impression on Indian audiences.
