Tripura’s Village Committee elections enter the final preparation phase as ballot printing begins and advance voting for election personnel is scheduled for September 22 and 23 ahead of September 28 polling.
Preparations for the Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) have entered a crucial phase, with the State Election Commission (SEC) beginning ballot paper printing and making arrangements for advance voting by government personnel engaged in election duties.
The Village Committee elections are scheduled to be held on September 28, while counting of votes will take place on October 5. With polling day approaching, the SEC has intensified logistical and administrative preparations across the state to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
According to SEC Secretary Anurag Sen, government officials and personnel assigned to election-related duties will be permitted to cast their votes before the scheduled polling date. The advance voting facility will be available on September 22 and 23 for personnel engaged in election work, including members of the civil administration, police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR).
Officials seeking to exercise their franchise through advance voting will have to submit applications using Form 15. Following the submission and verification of applications, the concerned Returning Officers will issue the required ballot papers to eligible personnel.
Meanwhile, the SEC has already completed the first round of randomisation of polling personnel, followed by the initial phase of training. The second phase of training is expected to be completed by September 22. Training programmes are being conducted across different blocks of Tripura, covering polling procedures, election protocols, security arrangements and measures for facilitating voters.
Ballot papers for the Village Committee elections are currently being printed at the Government Press. A dedicated team has been assigned to complete the printing process within the stipulated timeline. Election officials said the process is being closely monitored to maintain accuracy and ensure the timely delivery of ballot papers and other election materials.
The SEC is also coordinating various aspects of polling logistics, including deployment and training of personnel, advance voting, ballot paper preparation and security arrangements.

The upcoming Village Committee elections will involve multiple levels of administrative and electoral coordination under the TTAADC framework. With ballot printing underway and advance voting arrangements in place, the election machinery is now moving into the final stages of preparation before polling on September 28.
