Former Tripura CM and MP Biplab Kumar Deb interacted with students at Jamjuri Higher Secondary School during Yuva Samvad 2026, recalling his childhood connection with the institution while emphasizing gender equality, education, skill development, moral values and responsible technology use.
Former Tripura Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday visited Jamjuri Higher Secondary School and interacted with students during the “Yuva Samvad 2026” programme, revisiting his childhood association with the educational institution and encouraging students to focus on education, skills and responsible citizenship.
During his interaction with media persons, Deb recalled that Jamjuri Higher Secondary School was the institution where he studied during his childhood. He said his association with the school remains cordial and expressed happiness over the progress and infrastructural development witnessed by the institution over the years.
Deb said the development of the school’s infrastructure was initiated after he became the Chief Minister of Tripura. He also took an interest in the present condition of the institution and later inspected its newly constructed building to assess the facilities available for students and teachers.
Addressing the students during Yuva Samvad 2026, Deb highlighted the importance of creating a society based on equality and mutual respect. He particularly stressed the need for gender equality, urging people not to differentiate between boys and girls and instead to treat them simply as children with equal opportunities to learn, grow and pursue their aspirations.
The interaction provided students with an opportunity to directly engage with the former Chief Minister and MP. Students raised questions covering a range of subjects, including education, career planning, employment opportunities and social issues. Deb responded to their concerns and encouraged them to develop a broader understanding of the challenges and opportunities emerging in the modern world.
While interacting with the students, Deb emphasized that academic education should be complemented by practical skills and strong moral values. He encouraged young people to make skill development an important part of their preparation for future careers and employment.
He also spoke about the growing role of modern technology in education and everyday life. Deb urged students to use technology responsibly and productively, particularly at a time when digital platforms and technological tools are increasingly influencing learning, communication and professional opportunities.
The former Chief Minister further encouraged students to remain focused on their studies and develop discipline, confidence and a sense of responsibility. His interaction with the students focused on preparing the younger generation to face future challenges while maintaining strong social and moral values.
The programme was attended by Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Deb Roy, school headmaster Dipak Kumar Paul, teachers, students and other dignitaries. Their presence added to the significance of the Yuva Samvad programme, which provided a platform for students to discuss issues concerning their education, careers and wider social responsibilities.
Following the interaction, Deb inspected the school’s new building and reviewed the institution’s infrastructure and overall educational environment. His visit also brought attention to the school’s development and its continuing role in providing education to students in the area.
