The meeting focused on Tripura’s development priorities, implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and measures to strengthen coordination between the state government and the national policy institution.
According to Chief Minister Dr. Saha, the discussions covered various initiatives undertaken by the Tripura government and the progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented across the state. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of effective coordination to ensure that development programmes reach beneficiaries efficiently and produce tangible results at the grassroots level.
During the interaction, the Tripura government sought assistance from NITI Aayog in four key sectors — school education, tourism, sports and the startup ecosystem. These sectors were identified as important areas for strengthening human capital, creating employment opportunities, promoting economic activity and supporting the overall development of the state.
School education emerged as a key priority, with the state seeking institutional support to further improve educational opportunities and outcomes. Tourism was another major area of discussion, particularly in view of its potential to contribute to Tripura’s economy and generate livelihood opportunities. Support for sports was also sought to strengthen infrastructure, encourage young talent and create better opportunities for athletes from the state.
The startup ecosystem formed another significant part of the discussions. The state government is looking to strengthen the environment for entrepreneurship and innovation, with greater institutional support expected to help aspiring entrepreneurs and emerging businesses.
The meeting also explored ways to improve coordination and accelerate development initiatives. Chief Minister Dr. Saha stressed the importance of closer cooperation between Tripura and NITI Aayog to address implementation-related challenges and ensure that centrally supported programmes are delivered effectively.
The interaction assumes significance as Tripura continues to pursue development initiatives aligned with broader national priorities.
