Cuban Ambassador to India Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera visited Tripura for events marking Fidel Castro’s 100th birth anniversary. The envoy was welcomed in Agartala and felicitated by CPI(M) leaders, including Jitendra Chowdhury and Manik Sarkar. Special commemorative programmes are scheduled in Sabroom and Agartala during his visit.
Cuban Ambassador to India Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera arrived in Tripura on Wednesday on a visit, accompanied by his wife.
He was received at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala by former MP and senior CITU leader Shankar Prasad Datta, DYFI state secretary Nabarun Deb and others.
Later in the evening, he was felicitated by the CPIM state leadership at CPIM state headquarters. Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chowdhury and the former CM Manik Sarkar were present at the event.
On Thursday, the Cuban envoy shall attend a special event at Sabroom on the 100th anniversary of Fidel Castro, communist revolutionary leader and former president of Cuba.
On Friday, a similar event will be held at Rabindra Bhavan.
