The Report of the Inquiry Committee investigating allegations concerning former Allahabad High Court Judge Yashwant Varma was tabled in both the Houses of Parliament. In the Lok Sabha, Secretary General Uttpal Kuma Singh tabled the Hindi and English versions of the Report of the Inquiry Committee constituted under the Judges (Inquiry) Act, 1968 as well as the Oral and documentary evidence recorded during the course of the inquiry. While in the Rajya Sabha, the report in this regard was tabled by Secretary General P C Mody.
The Judges Inquiry Committee, investigating allegations concerning Yashwant Varma, had submitted its report to the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in May this year. The Committee was constituted by Mr Birla on 12th of August last year to probe the allegations levelled against Justice Varma, after a sum of burnt cash was found at his official residence in New Delhi.
