Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha chaired a high-level meeting on electricity services, power tariffs, Agartala Smart City projects, and road maintenance, stressing reliable power supply, infrastructure development, and consumer interests amid growing electricity demand and concerns over services across the state.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review various issues concerning electricity services, power tariffs, infrastructure development, Agartala Smart City projects, and the repair and maintenance of roads across the state.
The meeting was attended by Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Electricity Department Secretary Abhishek Singh, senior officials of the state government, and senior officials of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL).
According to information shared by the Chief Minister, several matters related to the Electricity Department were discussed during the meeting. The discussions came amid growing electricity demand in the state and concerns among consumers regarding electricity services.
The meeting also focused on ensuring an uninterrupted and reliable power supply for consumers across Tripura. Officials discussed the emerging challenges in the electricity sector and reviewed measures aimed at meeting the state’s increasing power requirements.
Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that a detailed discussion was held on electricity tariff-related matters under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. He said the government remains firmly committed to meeting the growing electricity requirements of the people while safeguarding the financial interests of every citizen and consumer.
The presence of senior officials from TSECL and the Electricity Department allowed the meeting to examine issues associated with power supply and electricity tariffs in detail. The discussions also highlighted the government’s focus on balancing the increasing demand for electricity with the interests of consumers.
Apart from the electricity sector, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of various ongoing development works under the Agartala Smart City initiative. The progress of projects being implemented as part of the urban development programme was assessed, with discussions focusing on the status of ongoing works and related implementation issues.
The meeting also took up matters concerning the repair and maintenance of national highways and roads maintained by the Public Works Department (PWD) across Tripura. Officials discussed the condition of roads and the need to ensure timely repair and maintenance to improve connectivity and facilitate smoother movement of people and vehicles.

The review of national highways and PWD roads comes as road infrastructure remains an important component of the state’s overall development. The meeting sought to assess ongoing works and address issues linked to infrastructure development and maintenance.
The discussions covering electricity services, power tariffs, Smart City projects, national highways and PWD roads reflected the government’s focus on key public infrastructure and essential services.
