Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) revises train services due to ongoing restoration work in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section near New Harangajao. Several trains have been cancelled, rescheduled, and regulated to ensure passenger safety while track restoration and railway operations continue.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced a fresh set of changes to train operations in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section as restoration work continues near New Harangajao station following the settlement of railway tracks on Line-1 and Line-2. Railway authorities stated that train services are currently being operated through Line-3 under enhanced safety protocols to ensure uninterrupted movement while repair work progresses.
The restoration work is being carried out on priority to restore normal rail connectivity in the affected section. NFR officials emphasized that passenger safety remains the foremost priority, and all operational decisions have been taken after careful assessment of the prevailing track conditions.
As part of the revised operational plan, four train services have been cancelled. Train No. 15617 Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express scheduled to commence its journey on August 5, 2026, has been cancelled. Similarly, Train No. 15618 Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express scheduled for August 6, 2026, will also remain cancelled. Train No. 15615 Guwahati–Silchar Express departing on August 5 and Train No. 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express departing on August 6 have likewise been cancelled.
NFR has also rescheduled several important passenger services to facilitate restoration activities and maintain smooth operations through the available track. Train No. 15650 Narangi–Agartala Express departing on August 5 will now leave at 10:30 PM, while Train No. 15649 Agartala–Narangi Express has been rescheduled to depart at 11:30 PM on the same day.
Train No. 15609 Guwahati–Sairang Express and Train No. 15611 Rangiya–Silchar Express will both depart at 11:30 PM on August 5 instead of their scheduled timings. Likewise, Train No. 15610 Sairang–Guwahati Express has been rescheduled to depart at 9:30 PM on August 5.
Passengers travelling on Train No. 15612 Silchar–Rangiya Express should note that the service will now depart at 5:00 AM on August 6. Additionally, Train No. 15646 Silchar–Charlapalli Express has been rescheduled to leave at 4:10 AM on August 6.
Apart from cancellations and revised departure timings, NFR has also informed that Train No. 17031 Charlapalli–Agartala Express, which commenced its journey on August 4, 2026, will be regulated suitably en route depending on operational requirements and track conditions.
Railway authorities have appealed to passengers to verify the latest train schedules before commencing their journey through official railway enquiry platforms and station announcements. NFR has assured that restoration work is progressing continuously, with engineering teams working round the clock to restore normal operations at the earliest.

The Northeast Frontier Railway reiterated that these temporary service modifications have been introduced solely to ensure the safety of passengers and railway staff while critical track restoration work is completed in the affected hill section. Normal train operations will resume once the restoration work is successfully completed and the tracks are declared safe for regular traffic.
