Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha interacted with citizens under the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme, addressing medical and public grievances while ensuring swift government intervention. Financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and successful humanitarian support cases highlighted the government’s commitment to public welfare, transparency, and responsive governance.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to public welfare, transparency, and prompt grievance redressal, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday interacted with citizens from different parts of the state under the flagship Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme held at his official residence.

The initiative, which aims to bring the government closer to the people and provide a direct platform for citizens to voice their concerns, has emerged as a significant example of responsive and accountable governance in Tripura. Through this programme, people from various districts are given the opportunity to directly present their grievances, demands, and suggestions before the Chief Minister, enabling quicker and more effective solutions to their problems.

Speaking about the importance of the initiative, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized that the programme reflects the government’s dedication to building a transparent, sensitive, and accountable administration where public participation and opinion are valued. He stated that connecting governance with the hopes, aspirations, and needs of the people remains a key priority of his administration.

During the interaction session, the Chief Minister listened to numerous grievances, particularly those related to serious medical conditions and financial hardships. Several families facing expensive and life-threatening health challenges approached him seeking assistance.

Among them was Biswajit Banik from Durga Nagar in Khowai district, whose daughter is suffering from a heart-related ailment. Naresh Debbarma from Amtali sought support for his daughter, who has been diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Jayashree Dey Chanda from Agartala requested assistance for her husband’s cancer treatment, while Pratima Rishidas appealed for support for her paralyzed husband.

Other citizens who met the Chief Minister included Bapi Debnath on behalf of his father Priyatosh Debnath of Jolaibari in South Tripura, Uttam Das of Shantirbazar, Kalimohan Das of Lankamura, Dhruv Chowdhury of Hapania, and several others from different regions of the state. After hearing their concerns, Dr. Saha directed the concerned officials to take immediate and necessary measures for resolving their issues.

In a significant gesture of support, the Chief Minister also handed over financial assistance of Rs. 3.90 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of Rakesh Shil of Ishanchandranagar, who recently lost his life due to drowning in a river, and two-and-a-half-year-old Sattika Sou, who tragically drowned in the Kattakhal area. Assuring the bereaved families of continued government support, Dr. Saha said the administration stands firmly beside citizens during times of hardship and crisis.

The programme also showcased a remarkable example of humanitarian intervention through Mukhyamantri Samipeshu. A few days earlier, the family of 22-year-old Diptanu Pal, who was suffering from a rare autoimmune disease, had approached the Chief Minister seeking medical assistance. Following immediate intervention and arrangements for advanced treatment, Diptanu’s health condition has shown significant improvement. Once unable to walk, move his limbs, or speak, the young man is now steadily recovering.

Expressing gratitude, Diptanu’s family thanked the Chief Minister for the timely support that helped transform his condition. Similarly, Bapi Debnath acknowledged the assistance received through the programme. He recalled that when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago, support provided under Mukhyamantri Samipeshu proved crucial for the family. Seeking treatment assistance for his father’s serious liver ailment, he said the Chief Minister’s continued compassion and intervention have once again given them hope.

Addressing those present, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha reiterated that solving the problems of ordinary citizens and standing beside them during difficult times remains one of the government’s foremost responsibilities. He added that the trust and confidence of the people serve as a major source of strength and inspiration for the government to continue working for public welfare.
