Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the newly constructed Sri Sri Dakshineswari Kali Temple at Bishalgarh, highlighting faith, devotion, and spiritual consciousness as guiding forces for society. He said the temple will emerge as a major center of worship, spirituality, cultural values, and tourism in Tripura.
Emphasizing the importance of faith, devotion, and spiritual consciousness in shaping a harmonious society, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed Sri Sri Dakshineswari Kali Temple at Bishalgarh. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the temple would evolve into a major center of worship, spirituality, and tourism in the coming years.
Addressing a large gathering of devotees, local residents, religious leaders, and dignitaries, Dr. Saha said that faith and belief illuminate human life while spiritual consciousness guides society toward the right path. According to him, the transition from a mindset of disbelief to an environment of spiritual awareness strengthens peace, morality, and humanitarian values among people.
The Chief Minister described the newly constructed temple as more than just a place of worship. He termed it a symbol of cultural heritage, social unity, and spiritual awakening for the people of Bishalgarh and Tripura as a whole. He stated that religious institutions play a vital role in preserving traditions and nurturing values that promote respect, compassion, and harmony within society.

“Faith and belief enlighten human life, while spiritual consciousness provides society with the right direction. The development of religious and cultural values strengthens mutual respect, empathy, and social harmony,” Dr. Saha said during the inauguration ceremony.
The Chief Minister further remarked that the newly built Sri Sri Dakshineswari Kali Temple represents a bright beacon of spiritual guidance. He expressed hope that the sacred site would attract not only devotees seeking divine blessings but also tourists interested in exploring Tripura’s rich religious and cultural heritage.
Dr. Saha noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed remarkable progress in infrastructure development, socio-economic advancement, and cultural rejuvenation. He said that alongside development initiatives, significant efforts have been made to preserve and promote India’s spiritual traditions and historical heritage.
Highlighting several major national projects, the Chief Minister referred to the development of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor in Varanasi, the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Mahakaleshwar Temple development in Ujjain, the reconstruction of Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand, and the Adiyogi Shiva statue in Coimbatore. He said these initiatives have strengthened India’s cultural identity and spiritual legacy.
Dr. Saha also mentioned the beautification and development of the revered Tripurasundari Temple in Udaipur under the PRASAD Scheme, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting religious tourism and preserving sacred sites across the country.
Prior to inaugurating the Dakshineswari Kali Temple, the Chief Minister unveiled a marble statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at the Bishalgarh Bypass Tri-junction. Speaking on the occasion, he described Deendayal Upadhyaya as not only a politician but also a renowned philosopher, writer, and social reformer whose ideas continue to inspire the youth.

Welcoming the gathering, Bishalgarh MLA Sushanta Deb informed that the temple was constructed through the combined efforts of the MLA Area Development Fund, contributions from local residents, and support from the state government. He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the realization of the long-awaited project.
The temple inauguration ceremony witnessed a vibrant spiritual atmosphere, with saints, religious leaders, and devotees from different parts of the state participating in the celebrations. Their presence, blessings, and spiritual discourses added to the sanctity and significance of the event.
Offering prayers at the feet of Maa Dakshineswari, the Chief Minister wished for the happiness, peace, prosperity, and well-being of all citizens. He also prayed for the continued growth of social harmony, goodwill, and humanitarian values throughout the state.
