The Government of Tripura has stepped up preparations for the much-anticipated Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, scheduled to be held on July 9 and 10. In a significant move toward strengthening the state’s investment ecosystem, a high-level preparatory meeting was held on Thursday at Conference Hall No. 2 of the State Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha.
The meeting focused on reviewing departmental preparedness, strategies for attracting investments, ensuring the participation of distinguished guests and investors, and overseeing the overall management of the conclave. Officials from various departments discussed coordinated efforts to make the event a landmark initiative in Tripura’s economic development journey.
At the beginning of the meeting, Industries and Commerce Department Secretary Kiran Gitte delivered a detailed presentation outlining the progress of preparations for the conclave. He highlighted the state’s investment growth trajectory over recent years, investment promotion roadshows conducted across major Indian cities, potential investment proposals under consideration, international diplomatic outreach efforts, and the responsibilities assigned to different departments.
According to Gitte, the conclave will place special emphasis on several high-potential sectors, including healthcare, tourism, education, information technology, renewable energy, real estate, agro-processing, logistics, and manufacturing industries. The primary objective is to showcase Tripura as an investor-friendly destination on national and international platforms while facilitating new investment opportunities and bringing together stakeholders from diverse sectors under one common platform.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha described the hosting of the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 as a matter of great pride for the state. He stated that the event reflects Tripura’s progressive economic policies, development-oriented vision, and commitment to creating a favorable environment for investors.
Sinha informed participants that the country’s Chief Economic Advisor is expected to attend the conclave, a development that could significantly enhance Tripura’s visibility at the national level. The presence of such a prominent economic figure would provide an important opportunity to present the state’s growth potential before policymakers, industry leaders, and investors.
The Chief Secretary further emphasized that Tripura possesses immense potential for industrial and commercial expansion in the coming years. He noted that the state has emerged as one of India’s leading performers in implementing business-friendly reforms and ease-of-doing-business initiatives. In particular, Tripura’s efforts toward compliance deregulation and administrative reforms have received widespread recognition across the country.
Highlighting the state’s growing attractiveness among investors, Sinha said entrepreneurs and business groups from different parts of India have shown keen interest in investing in sectors such as tourism, healthcare, education, information technology, renewable energy, and agro-processing. This growing interest, he said, is a reflection of Tripura’s steadily improving economic landscape and investor-friendly governance framework.
