The Tripura government on Wednesday conducted a high-level preparatory meeting to review arrangements for the smooth, secure, and transparent conduct of the upcoming NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination, scheduled to be held across the country on June 21 (Sunday).

The meeting was convened by the Higher Education Department and chaired by the Chief Secretary of Tripura. It was attended virtually by the Special Secretary of the department, members of the State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC), District Level Coordination Committees (DLCCs), representatives of Tripura Police, the National Informatics Centre (NIC), District Magistrates, and other concerned stakeholders.

During the meeting, officials undertook a comprehensive review of all aspects related to the conduct of the examination. Detailed discussions were held on security protocols, transportation and safeguarding of confidential examination materials, deployment of personnel, logistical support, and effective coordination among departments involved in the examination process.

The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of ensuring strict compliance with the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA). He emphasized that adherence to these guidelines is crucial for maintaining the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination. Officials were instructed to ensure seamless coordination among all departments and agencies to facilitate the successful conduct of the examination without any disruptions.

Special focus was placed on the safe custody and timely transportation of confidential examination materials. Authorities discussed measures to strengthen security arrangements at examination centres and prevent any lapses that could compromise the examination process. The administration also highlighted the need to create a hassle-free and candidate-friendly environment to enable students to appear for the examination with confidence and convenience.

West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar attended the meeting and reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to providing all necessary support for the successful conduct of the examination. He assured that adequate arrangements would be made to ensure smooth operations at examination centres and that all stakeholders would work in close coordination to uphold the highest standards of examination management.

Officials stated that coordinated efforts are already underway across districts to ensure that the re-examination is conducted in a transparent, secure, and efficient manner. The state administration is taking all necessary precautions to safeguard the examination process and maintain public confidence in the system.

The West Tripura district administration also reiterated its commitment to ensuring fairness, accountability, and good governance in the conduct of public examinations.
