Agartala Court Complex fire gutted seven shops near Office Lane, causing major losses to traders. Mayor Dipak Majumder inspected the site with senior officials, assured immediate government assistance within two days, and pledged humanitarian support after a detailed damage assessment under the guidance of the Chief Minister.

A devastating fire broke out near the Agartala Court Complex, reducing at least seven shops to ashes and causing significant losses to local traders. The incident occurred late Monday night in the busy Office Lane area adjacent to the court premises, sending shockwaves among business owners and residents.

According to preliminary reports, the blaze spread rapidly through the commercial stretch, engulfing several shops before firefighters managed to bring the situation under control. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine how the incident occurred. Officials are also assessing the total financial losses suffered by the affected traders.

Following the incident, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder visited the fire-ravaged site on Tuesday morning to take stock of the situation. He was accompanied by officials from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office, Corporator Jahnabi Das Chowdhury, Town No. 8 Bordowali Assembly Constituency Mandal President Shyamal Kumar Deb, and other senior administrative officers.

During the inspection, Mayor Majumder interacted directly with the affected shopkeepers and traders whose businesses were destroyed in the fire. He listened to their concerns, reviewed the extent of the damage, and assured them that the administration would extend all possible support during this difficult period.

Speaking at the site, the Mayor stated that the government is already taking steps to provide immediate assistance to the affected traders. He assured that primary government relief measures would be arranged within the next two days to help those who have suffered losses and whose livelihoods have been severely impacted by the disaster.

“The administration is committed to standing beside the affected people during this crisis. We are working to ensure that necessary assistance reaches them at the earliest,” Majumder said while interacting with the victims.

He further informed that a detailed assessment of the damage would be conducted by the concerned departments. Once the evaluation is completed, the administration will formulate additional measures to support the affected families and business owners.

Mayor Majumder emphasized that the state government, under the direction of the Chief Minister, will adopt a humanitarian approach in dealing with the aftermath of the incident. He assured that all necessary steps would be taken to help the traders recover from their losses and resume their normal activities as soon as possible.

The fire has raised concerns among local residents and business owners regarding fire safety measures in densely populated commercial areas. As investigations continue, traders are hoping for swift assistance and long-term support to rebuild their businesses.
