The Directorate of Skill Development, Tripura, organized a Mega Job Fair under Mukhyamantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa (MMDUP) at Women’s Model ITI, Indranagar. Around 1,500 job seekers participated, with 16 employers offering 1,900 vacancies. Nearly 300 candidates were shortlisted, boosting employment opportunities and youth empowerment across Tripura.
The Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura, successfully organized a Mega Job Fair under the Mukhyamantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa (MMDUP) at the Women’s Model ITI, Indranagar, on Friday.
The Mega Job Fair was aimed at bridging the gap between skilled unemployed youth and prospective employers by providing a common platform where job seekers could directly interact with recruiters and explore employment opportunities. According to an official government press release, the initiative reflects the State Government’s continued commitment to enhancing employability among youth and supporting workforce development.
The event witnessed overwhelming participation from aspiring candidates across Tripura. Around 1,500 job seekers attended the fair and actively took part in recruitment drives, interviews, and interactions with employers throughout the day. Participants came from different districts of the State, highlighting the increasing interest among young people in skill-based employment opportunities.
A total of 16 reputed employers participated in the Mega Job Fair. The participating organizations included companies from Tripura as well as leading firms from major cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Collectively, these employers offered approximately 1,900 vacancies across a wide range of sectors and trades, creating substantial employment prospects for qualified candidates.
Following a day-long recruitment process, nearly 300 candidates were shortlisted by the participating employers for various job opportunities. The successful shortlisting of such a large number of candidates underscores the effectiveness of the Job Fair in connecting skilled manpower with industry requirements.
Officials stated that the successful organization of the event demonstrates the Directorate of Skill Development’s dedication to creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and facilitating meaningful engagement between industry and the workforce. The initiative also serves as a platform for employers to identify talented and skilled candidates while helping youth access employment opportunities both within and outside the State.
