The results of the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) 2026 were officially declared on Friday, bringing excitement and relief to thousands of students and their families across the state. The announcement was made by Dr. Raja Chakraborty, Chairman of the Tripura Joint Entrance Board, during a press briefing held at the Board’s office.

A total of 4,731 candidates appeared for the highly competitive entrance examination this year, which was conducted across 15 examination centers located in different districts of Tripura. Among the candidates, 2,086 were male students while 2,645 were female students, indicating a significant rise in female participation in higher education entrance examinations.

According to official data, 604 candidates registered for the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) group, while 2,666 students appeared for the Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) group. Additionally, 1,461 candidates opted to appear in both streams, aiming for opportunities in engineering as well as medical and allied professional courses.

West Tripura district hosted the highest number of examination centers, with eight centers functioning during the examination period. Each of the remaining districts had one center to accommodate students from different parts of the state.

The declaration of results also highlighted the outstanding performances of several students. In the PCM category, Arghyajyoti Saha secured the first rank with an impressive performance, followed by Animesh Sarkar in second place. Akash Choudhury claimed the third position in the merit list.

The entrance examination remains one of the most important gateways for admission into professional institutions within Tripura and outside the state through counseling procedures.

Following the announcement, celebrations were reported in several schools and households as successful candidates shared their achievements with teachers, relatives, and friends. Education experts have also observed that the increased participation of female students reflects a positive transformation in educational aspirations and competitive examination involvement across Tripura.

With the merit lists now published, the focus will shift to the counseling and admission process, which is expected to begin soon. Thousands of students are now preparing for the next phase that will determine their future academic and professional careers.
