BJP Tripura will conduct mandal-level training sessions across 60 assembly segments by May 27, with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee inaugurating the first programme in Bardowali to strengthen organisational structure and grassroots outreach.
A statewide organisational training initiative for grassroots party workers will begin in Tripura on Thursday as the Bharatiya Janata Party prepares to conduct intensive mandal-level sessions across all assembly segments by May 27.
The first phase of the programme will be launched at the 8 Bardowali Mandal in the presence of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and BJP Tripura Pradesh President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee. The training sessions are being organised under the slogan “Saksham Karyakarta, Sashakta Sangathan,” focusing on strengthening party structure and enhancing the efficiency of grassroots workers.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s state headquarters, BJP Tripura spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said the programme has been designed to provide organisational and developmental knowledge to party workers at the mandal level.
He informed that the first session would begin on Thursday in Bardowali and similar training programmes would subsequently be organised in the remaining 59 mandals between May 17 and May 27. According to party leaders, the initiative is aimed at improving coordination among workers and ensuring stronger communication regarding government schemes and development activities.
Chakraborty stated that each training session would continue for one and a half days, during which participants would be required to stay overnight at the training venue. Strict guidelines have also been introduced for the programme, including a ban on the use of mobile phones and plastic materials during the sessions.
Party leaders said the training modules would include discussions on the development projects undertaken by the Central government, welfare schemes implemented by the Tripura government, and local-level development works carried out in different assembly segments. Workers will also be briefed on organisational discipline, public outreach strategies, and communication methods to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.
The BJP has set a target of approximately 140 to 150 participants from each assembly segment. However, Chakraborty clarified that the number of participants could vary depending on the size and organisational strength of individual mandals.
“The average target is around 140 to 150 party workers for every mandal. In some assembly segments the number may exceed the target, while in others it may be slightly lower,” he said.
Political observers believe the large-scale training exercise reflects the BJP’s continued focus on strengthening its organisational machinery in Tripura ahead of future political activities and electoral preparations. The programme is also expected to help the party improve coordination between local workers and state leadership while reinforcing awareness about welfare and development initiatives among grassroots members.
Senior party leaders and office bearers were present during the press briefing held at the BJP state headquarters. Among those attending were BJP General Secretary Bhagaban Das, media in-charge Sunit Sarkar, party IT cell convenor Chandan Debnath, and spokesperson Ashmita Banik.
