Newly elected TVK legislators gathered at party headquarters in Panaiyur after Assembly polls win

In Tamil Nadu, political activity has intensified following the completion of vote counting for the Assembly elections. The TVK has emerged as the single largest party in the state. Party leader Joseph Vijay paid tribute to the founder of Dravidian politics, C.N. Annadurai, in the state. Today, newly elected TVK legislators have gathered at the party headquarters in Panaiyur, near Chennai, to elect Actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay as their legislative party leader. The party is now expected to approach the Governor to stake its claim to form the government in the state.
